We have been super busy lately doing fun family events. The weather has been great and being outside has been so much fun compared to the HOT summer we just had. We went to a near by park a few weeks ago with a few of our good friends here and the kids had such a good time. They went to a petting zoo there, played on the playground, rode the mini train, saw wildlife, and had fun just being silly. We also took a weekend trip to the mountains (about 1.5 hours away) and stayed in a cabin with our neighbors. We went rock mining, visited a cave, built a fire and roasted marshmallows, played at a park, and made great memories. The weather is usually 20 degrees colder there but randomly the weekend we went- it SNOWED!-Luckily we did not stay in a tent! The kids loved it and of course our company was wonderful. Our neighbors are like family here to us so we were thankful to make the trip with them. The kids slept together and got to skip a few naps in order to sight see so they loved that. ;) Claire decided on her own the week before our trip that she wanted to start using the potty so let me tell you how interesting that made the trip in the mountains. We had to pull over going around a mountain in the snow and let her go on the side of the mountain without a potty in the snow. It was a memory in itself. She is going on 3 weeks now and only a few accidents so I am very proud of her. She just makes me sad because she is trying to grow up way too fast. She wants to be JUST like Jack. She is not interested though in giving up her pacifiers. That will be a battle- and one I am not ready to have at this point. Her face lights up at the sight of a pacifier and if you have a handful of them she acts like she just won the lottery. She loves to hold onto as many as she can at all times. We went to get her flu shot last week and she is in the 40th percentile for height and 50th for weight. She also got her 18 month shots (she is 20 months old so we were a little late) and she did so good and was so brave. Jack got his shot first and he was so awesome and precious when he got his shot. He went first and said he was going to be brave so Claire wouldn't be sad. Then he asked if he could cry for a second and literally cried for a second and then said he was ready to help Claire be brave. He told her it would only hurt for a second and then cried when she cried. They are so sweet to each other when they need to be and the love they have for each other is beyond words. I was so choked up just watching them. Their relationship even at this age is so unique. Jack had Farmer day at school so I posted a few pics from that. He is still very into puzzles and just makes me giggle every day. Greg's friend Scott called the other night and Jack answered. He misunderstood him and turned white as a ghost when he handed me the phone and said " Mommy, it's God!" It was so funny. His vocabulary is hilarious too. He tells me to "distract" Claire when she is crying and he says he is "nervous" before doing things sometimes. We went to the pumpkin patch today and they had fun doing all the events planned and just being super busy. I love my kids more than life itself and an so grateful to God to have them in my life. You learn what true love is when you have children and I will never take that for granted. Even on the craziest days when I want to pull my hair out they still make me laugh with their innocent ways.
